Welcome to the Our Dynamic Earth Webblog

Our Dynamic Earth is the Mother Earth of all adventures where you can explore our planet’s past, present and future. You’ll be shaken by volcanoes, fly over glaciers, feel the chill of polar ice, and get caught in a tropical rainstorm.

Did you know that we're the only UK centre dedicated to the amazing story of the place we call home, planet Earth, and allows visitors to see what the present tells us about our past and what our past can tell us about our future here on planet Earth. It's really about how the Earth works!

Dynamic Earth is neither a traditional museum nor is it a traditional science centre. Rather it's a unique multi sensory and immersive combination of both with a large amount of fun thrown in.

Dynamic Earth is also a VisitScotlnand 5 star visitor attraction, only one of a few in Edinburgh, with a great Food Chain Cafe and Natural Selection gift shop. We offer an adventure of a visit for families and groups but not exclusively so. Anyone with an interest in the evolution of Earth, the processes that have shaped it and the places that characterise it will find Dynamic Earth a special place to visit. Even if you've previoulsy not had a huge interest in earth or indeed any sceince we guarantee that a day out at Dynamic Earth will spark your curiosity and lead you on a much longer adventure.

Brand new for this year is the FutureDome where you can even go time travelling to the planet Earth of our future. What's more you personally shape that future direction by taking decisions that will impact on our future..........it's yours to decide.!

For those who prefer a more peaceful pace you'll enjoy Earthscape Scotland which charts Scotland's geological journey across the planet through rocks, plants and a stunning outdoor exhibition.

We look forward to welcoming you for The Mother Earth of all adventures!

PS: Not fogetting Dynamic Earth is also a unique events venue and truly inspirational educational resource....more on that to come.

PPS: We're a charitable and not for profit organisation with all commercially raised revenues being reinvested into the lifelong learning and communication of Earth Sciences.

You can find us at the heart of Edinburgh at the foot of Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat (an extinct volcano) beside the new Scottish Parliament and overlooking the Palace of Holyrood House.
